Building the Foundation: The First 50 Founding Supporters
Following my introduction to the Counterpart Support Network (CSN), I’d like to share how the project will begin.
Over the past several weeks I’ve been researching the logistics, speaking with contacts in Cuba, and identifying practical ways resources can reach households directly.
At its core, the idea is simple: create a shared support fund that can be used to deliver essential goods directly to families in Cuba through trusted contacts.
Rather than relying on large institutions or complicated distribution systems, the project focuses on smaller, direct support — things like food, household goods, medical supplies, and energy resilience — purchased through platforms that can deliver directly to households on the island.
While support of any amount is always appreciated, to launch the project, I’m inviting a limited group of 50 early supporters to help establish that first support fund.
The First 50 — Founding Supporters (2026)
These will be the first individuals, households, and businesses or organizations who help bring the Counterpart Support Network to life.
Their contributions will form the initial support fund, allowing resources to begin reaching families connected to our exchange network in Cuba as quickly as possible.
Minimum founding contributions are:
Individuals — $100
Households — $150
Businesses / Organizations — $300
Founding Supporters are welcome to contribute more if they wish, or in stages.
Founding Supporters will also be permanently recognized on the project website as part of the inaugural group that helped establish the Counterpart Support Network with their significant contributions.
Listings will appear alphabetically, regardless of contribution amount. Supporters may choose to be listed as an individual, household, business or organization, in memoriam, or anonymously if they prefer.
Transparency
To maintain transparency, purchases made through the shared support fund will be documented with confirmations and receipts so supporters can see how resources are being used, while respecting the privacy of the households receiving support.
Periodic updates will also summarize how resources from the fund are being deployed.
Please refer to the Founder’s ‘Radical’ Transparency Letter for a full explanation.
Additional Support
While the First 50 will form the project’s founding group, additional contributions of lesser amounts are also very welcome.
Anyone who contributes during a given year will be recognized on the website as part of that year’s Supporters list, unless they prefer to remain anonymous. This list will be refreshed each year, replaced by the total of that year’s contributions.
